Paw Paw Everlast Label Introduction
Welcome to PAW PAW EVERLAST LABEL COMPANY, the original manufacturer of metal garden labels. We are a small, family-owned business that strives to offer personal service and great products at reasonable prices.
THE BEGINNINGS...
The company was started in 1937 by Leon Cassler in a one-car garage next to his house on Elm Street in the Village of Paw Paw. He made the plant labels using only simple tools. In 1963, the business changed hands and was moved just outside the Paw Paw Village limits where many changes were made to the manufacturing process. In 2018, we moved to our current location on Peters Drive, allowing us to have all manufacturing, warehousing, and clerical functions in one location. Although many processes have been updated and upgraded to meet the needs of today's gardener, our focus on manufacturing a quality garden label at an affordable price has remained.
RECENT YEARS...
The current owners, Steve & Terri Starbuck, purchased Paw Paw Everlast Label Company in 2006. Since that time, we have worked hard to make improvements based on customer feedback. The first thing we did was to add the option of online ordering. Prior to 2006, all orders were handled through the mail, and payment was made with check or money order.
Today, over 95% of our customers order online. We also invested in a new press which allowed us to round the corners on our E, F, and M nameplates, a change that was very well received. In the past 10 years, we have also introduced upgrade options of heavy duty or copper nameplates for many of our styles of labels, stainless steel wires, and several custom labels. We also recently added the option of sturdy aluminum nameplates for our E and F nameplates.
Through the years, each of our children have joined in working for the family business, mainly through their high school and college years. We are proud of the strong work ethic each has built through working side by side with us. We also have a group of about 10 employees who work very hard every day to manufacture, pack, and ship your garden labels. Without them, we would not be the company we are today.
